What is Medicare Advantage?

Medicare Advantage is a type of health insurance plan that may provide dental
benefits to people eligible for Medicare through a private-sector health insurer.
This is not a traditional Medicare plan. In fact, it is similar to a group plan -
not only because it's offered by health insurers but because it may include coverage
for things Original Medicare doesn't cover.

Benefits of Medicare Advantage

  • Medicare Advantage covers what Original Medicare covers, plus may cover extra benefits like dental, vision, hearing and even things like transportation to doctor visits and medications, making these plans very attractive for many people becoming eligible every day

  • Medicare Advantage plans typically offer preventive coverage - from oral exams and cleanings to fluoride treatments and dental x-rays – and may cover extended dental benefits like fillings, crowns, dentures, implants, restorative work and more

  • Many Medicare Advantage plans are operated by some of the biggest names in insurance nationwide that may have programs to roll over members from their group plans directly into their Medicare Advantage plans.

Growing Market

  • Enrollment in Medicare Advantage has doubled over the last decade 1

  • More than 26 million Americans are enrolled in Medicare Advantage 2

  • With 10,000 new people turning 65 every day in the United States 2, there will be more and more patients with Medicare Advantage plans in your market and serving them can help you grow your practice
